Server log files
This website is hosted by INWX GmbH & Co. KG, Prinzessinnenstr. 30, 10969 Berlin, Germany. A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place, and the services are provided within the EU or the EEA. When you visit a page, the web server records technical data in a log file: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system identifiers. This happens for every website you visit and is necessary to operate the site securely and to diagnose faults. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in providing a functioning and secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). These log files are created and deleted by the hosting provider in accordance with its retention policy.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies for visitors and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services. Cookies are set only when a site administrator logs in, which is necessary for the login to work.
Information displayed on this site
Pages on this site display open-access status, citation counts, usage figures and download counts for my publications, software and deposited talks. This information is retrieved by the server once a day from OpenAlex, Zenodo and cranlogs, and is then delivered as part of this website’s own pages. Your browser does not contact those services, and they do not receive your IP address.
No fonts, scripts, images or other files are loaded from third-party servers. Everything this website displays is served from its own domain.
Contacting me
If you write to me by email, your message and your email address are stored in my mailbox so that I can answer you. I keep correspondence only as long as it is needed for that purpose or for the professional record.
Links to other websites
This site links to external websites, including profiles on ORCID, GitHub, Google Scholar, ResearchGate and LinkedIn. Once you follow such a link, the privacy statement of that website applies. I have no influence on how those providers process your data.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to the personal data concerning you, as well as rectification, erasure or restriction of processing, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
